Record releases galore!

There’s a lot going on in the indie world this week by way of record releases.  The Mountain Goats and Pains of Being Pure At Heart have put out new albums within the last two weeks and are now touring in support of them, even coming within reasonable distance to Utica!

The Mountain Goats

The Mountain Goats 2011 release, All Eternals Deck, hit stores last week.  Complementing their earlier work, the album takes on an eerie, “unknown” tone, full of wild guitar riffs that seem unending, but still abide by the band's usual folk-y sentiment.
The band is on tour now and will becoming to the Utica-ish area in July, about an hour away in Baldwinsville, NYat the NY Paper Mill Island Amphitheater with Bright Eyes.

Pains of Being Pure At Heart
Belong, the band’s new release is out now on Slumberland records and is catchy, poppy and ethereal, all adjectives one has come to identify with the indie-alternative newcomers.  The lead single, “Heart In the Heartbreak” is incredibly catchy and synth-filled, perfect compliments to one another.
Unfortunately, the closest the band is traveling to Utica is the New York City area, making a brief stop at Webster Hall on May 6th.

That’s all for this week!

WPNR Mosh News

Hey guys, Zach here with this month's Hardcore and Metal news!

Be sure to check out Between The Buried And Me's new EP which is streaming online now! Nothing short of amazing of course. Also, be expecting new albums in upcoming months from The Devil Wears Prada, Set Your Goals,  Thursday, Foundation and a whole lot more! And be sure to check out the new Defeater album- "Empty Days and Sleepless Nights!"

This week's "Believe the Hype" band goes out to hardcore/punk group Bayonet. Featuring Senses Fail vocalist Buddy Neilson, Bayonet is definitely a project fans of Senses' heavier stuff, and fans of them in general will want to hear. Even if you don't like Senses, give these dudes a shot. I've got a feeling they're going to be a contender in the hardcore scene!

April's looking like a lazy month for shows.  Attack Attack and Winds of Plague will be in Syracuse the 13th, and Asking Alexandria in Clifton Park the 17th.  But be on the look out for some really solid shows coming to Central New York in May!

That's about all I've got for this month. Until next time- mosh hard, or not at all!
