Hey guys this is Becky with your weekly indie update.

If you haven’t heard The Naked and Famous’s new EP No Light then you need to get on that. Every song has a different feel and sound but they’re all awesome. The Naked and Famous are quickly becoming popular, their show in Arizona scheduled for September 12^th had to be moved to a larger venue due to popular demand. That’s a pretty big deal if you ask me. Many established indie bands don’t run into that issue. Their single “Young Blood” from their album Passive Me Aggressive You is their most popular song but by no means their best. “Punching in a Dream” and their new song “Bells” are both great songs as well.

Mayday Parade released their new album simply titled Mayday Parade and if you couldn’t guess it’s filled with sappy songs of heartthrobs and break ups as usual. The good news is the band is finally learning how to write music without Jason. The album is by Derek’s best but that doesn’t really cut it. The even better news is that there’s a deluxe edition available on iTunes. Who doesn’t want two bonus acoustic songs and a digital booklet?
