Pop Divas Return

Within the past two weeks, several of music's biggest female pop stars have released new singles. These songs are already blowing up on radio and are all sitting comfortably in the iTunes store top ten most downloaded songs.

Adele "Skyfall"
From the upcoming James Bond movie, Adele has recorded the theme song for the classic movie franchise. Riding high off of her critically acclaimed album "21", fans will have to wait for a new album as this song will, unfortunately, not be a single from a new album. The song itself isn't much of a musical departure for Adele as the song still has the soulful sound, along with the signature Bond riffs of past Bond theme songs. "Skyfall" is already a success as it shot straight to number one on the iTunes music chart, just 12 hours after its release!

Ke$ha "Die Young"
After a long break from the music scene, Ke$ha is finally back with the first single from her upcoming album, "Warrior." Her music hasn't changed much since her last album as the song is another party jam,  singing about taking shots and tearin' it up. While it has been a while since we've heard new material from Ke$ha, am I the only one who was a little disappointed that Ke$ha didn't bring a new sound for her new album? Apparently not many were disappointed as the song debuted in the top 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 last week!

Rihanna "Diamonds"
If you thought Rihanna would come out with another club banger for her new album, then you thought wrong. "Diamonds" previews Rihanna's upcoming seventh album, and is a slow tempo song with lyrics that aren't sexual in content for once. Rihanna also shows off her vocal range in the song, which is also unusual for her. While it is not an undeniable smash like "We Found Love", "Diamonds" will more than likely be a hit as everything Rihanna touches turns to gold, or...Diamonds.

Taylor Swift "I Knew You Were Trouble."
Taylor Swift has officially gone pop. Swift's new release from "Red" is pure pop and should be the follow up to her number one smash "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." Swift is following in the footsteps of fellow pop stars Britney Spears, Flo Rida, and Pitbull by incorporating dubstep into her music. While this may push country fans away, it will surely attract a whole new group of fans as dubstep is popular among the music scene these days. To no surprise, "Trouble" is currently sitting at the number one spot on the iTunes top songs chart.
