Everyone Loves a New Album (or several)
It's been a big couple months for alternative/indie. The much anticipated B-Room from Dr. Dog came out October 1st (and didn't disappoint), as well as the late September releases of Man Man's softer On Oni Pond and Deer Tick's introspective Negativity. And that's only the start.
Pearl Jam's Lightning Bolt came out Oct. 11th with the same grit Eddie Vedder and company have consistently played since they're first album, Ten, released in 1991. No Pearl Jam fan will be disappointed with this 10th album of vigor and no apologies. That being said, I advise you to get the whole album.
Although the original spunk of Arctic Monkeys has toned down since their first albums, AM holds true to their good sense of beat and lyrics. Released on Sept. 6th, AM speaks to a more modern people. They're stand out song, 'Do I Wanna Know?' is accompanied by a radical video of illustration that has 16 million views and counting. Other songs to look our for are 'R U MINE?', 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?", and the melodic love anthem 'Arabella'.
See for yourself:
Eclectic, heavy-hooked Franz Ferdinand released their new album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action August 27th. Their top track 'Right Action' is one of the many quick-paced, relatable songs on the album.
And just in case you haven't heard The Strokes new album Countdown Machine (released March 26th), don't be too upset. With electronic undertones, it doesn't hold up to previous albums. There's not much more to say about it other than I love The Strokes and I'm just going to forget they made this album.

Ending on a sweet note: 90's band Mazzy Star came out with a new album (their first since 1996!) September 24th called Seasons Of Your Day. Listen to their single 'California'.
