THE UP AND COMING
ARTISTArtist: Rich Homie Quan
Born: DeQuantes Lamar on Oct. 4th 1989
Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia
Twitter: @RichHomieQuan
Rich Homie Quan made it into the hot seat with his dope flow and fresh talent. He has chosen to rap about substance, things he’s gone through and what he can imagine his fan base going through.Quan is Not into fabricating stories about cars/money/drugs, ‘Quan is more positive than that. He didn’t come in the game name bashing boasting about being “better than so and so” which can sometimes land you your hit record, if you build the buzz well enough. Rich Homie Quan is building his own buzz by just being a RAW artist--rapping about real things, something rare and contained in this generation’s Hip-Hop scene.
With a promising start and backing from his label, Def Jam Recording; Rich Homie Quan has however had his share of mishaps and downs, as he was recently released from jail in 2011 and his Mentor passed just shortly before his mixtape release.
Rich Homie Quan is however, certain that he won’t fall victim to his circumstances and that he’s on a quest to manifest positivity in every thing that he does. He believes this outlook is what’s going to keep him in the running for the top spot and differentiated from the in crowd.
Rich Homie Quan’s career is not only rumored to---but backed by his positive spirit and impeccable work ethic, that it is most certainly about to blow. His mixtape Where Were You is scheduled to be released later on this year. Until then, be on the look out for his features!
Artist: Miley Cyrus
Genre: Pop
Album: Bangerz
Miley Cyrus has been around for years. In 2006, Cyrus “rose to prominence” as a teen idol after being cast in the Disney Channel tv series “Hannah Montana” in which she was cast as the the starring character "Miley Stewart". In 2007 she signed a recording contract with Hollywood Records. Cyrus developed an adult image and mainstream pop sound with her album “extended play the time of our lives” in 2009. Peaking at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, its track “Party In The U.S.A” became her highest-peaking single on the chart up to that point. As of recent Miley has released an album titled “Bangerz”. Bangerz’s single “Wrecking Ball” became her first number-one hit in the United States. In my opinion this album (Bangerz) is a pretty good one. Most of the songs are upbeat, something to “pregame” to with your friends. something to get you in the mood to go out. There are also a few slow jamz on the album. One of my favorites is “Adore You” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF1Bp8euHq8 ). The vocals on this song take me back to when Miley was still Hannah Montana. You can tell though that Miley Cyrus has been through some things during the process of reinventing herself. She sings a lot about love and learning lessons, and twerking and drinking and doing a lot of ratchet things with her homies as well.
On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the absolute best, I give Bangerz an 8.7. I feel like supporters of the new “all grown up” Miley will be very proud,as for the Hannah Montana lovers, well I don’t know.

If you are familiar with the brotherly rap-duo the Clipse, you would know that Pusha-T has come a long way from Elektra Records and teaming with his brother Gene. Now more focused on his solo work, Pusha T has been working with a new team of supporters over at G.O.O.D. Music (Kanye, Teyanna Taylor, Kid Cudi, Cyhi Da Prynce and more)
Earlier
this week, Pusha T revealed that his solo debut on G.O.O.D. Music would be
titled My Name is My Name. He
initially announced that his album was going to drop Summer of 2013 July 16, to
be exact—but after being pushed back for some final tweaks, it finally dropped,
Oct. 7, 2013. The album has 12-tracks
which have featured appearances from Chris Brown, Future, Young Jeezy and even
female influence, Kelly Rowland (+). With mixed reviews of praises and put-downs,
many of his songs are already making its way up widely watched Hip Hop charts,
like DJBOOTH.net
( Sweet Serenade ft. Chris Brown and Nostalgia ft. Kendrick
Lamar). Those two songs are being well received by avid hip-hop listeners. Just
shy of projected expectations, Pusha T has pushed only 74,610 units in its
first week.

Artist: Drake
Genre: Urban
Album:Nothing was the Same
Drake is well known in the music scene. He has been around since June 2009. Before recording music he starred on the tv show “Degrassi”.
Prior
to the release of his new album he released another album, “Take Care”
along with a few singles that were released from the new album early.
This Album is very good in my opinion. It goes along with the rest of his albums.
After listening to the entire album I was not in the least bit disappointed.
My Favorite songs are: Furthest Thing, Wu-Tang Forever, Own It, and The Language.
Overall rating on a scale of 1-10,10 being the absolute best, I give “NWTS” a pretty solid 8.9.
i feel like his fans will be happy.
