I’ve always been a sucker for bubblegum pop, especially
since I grew up with the success of pop stars Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera,
Jessica Simpson, Backstreet Boys, and N*Sync. And I couldn’t be happier that
bubbly pop songs have been all over the airwaves as of late, including the
inescapable “Call Me Maybe.” But there is a new pop song that I am obsessed
with that is being played all over radio, and it’s by two 19-year-old twin
sisters Megan and Liz.
Megan and Liz rose to fame through their Youtube channel
where they have over 750,000 subscribers and over 175 million video views. Their Youtube
channel is full of original songs and covers of other songs, including “As Long
As You Love Me”, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, and “Lights”. Now
they are reaching chart success with their latest single “Bad For Me.” The song
is a shot of irresistible pure pop with the catchiest chorus that I have heard
in a long time.
Megan and Liz are on their way to the top, as they were
recently voted the winner of iHeart Radio’s Rising Star contest. They were also
ranked number 14 on Billboard’s 21 Under 21 and their single is currently
ranked number 37 on Billboard’s Pop 100. Get ready for “Bad For Me” to be all
over radio and stuck in your head 24/7!
